FAQs

How I can prepare my family for photoshoot?

Relax. I don’t expect or need children to be on their best behaviour in order to capture beautiful photographs of them. I am mother myself and from my experience the best is just wait and be ready for the moments when they shine, and I have some techniques and games I use to improve our chances.  I'm ready to embrace your kids just the way they are. I'm certainly not going to force them to do anything. This is about capturing their authenticity and you getting to see how much they love you.

Eat. Full tummies mean lots of energy and enthusiasm for fun and games!

Prepare your clothing choices. More about this down below or when we’ve scheduled your photoshoot, but a bit of prep for your outfits goes a long way.

Will you photoshop me to make me fabulous?

Yes and No. Standard retouching is included in the session fee. Standard retouching includes light blemish, bruises and scratch removal. Lessing of scars or mild acne. Skin may be smoothed to look soft. Not included is complex retouching: hair colour changes or adjustments, extreme scarring, tattoos, laugh lines, nail colour, and body-shaping.

What on earth should we wear?

This is a great question. I would love to be able to say.. "Hey it doesn't matter what you wear". But that would be a lie. It's not the most important part of your session by far, but it does matter. There are just some colours that don't photograph well and some colours that should just never, ever, ever leave a dressing room. I generally recommend you wear comfortable shoes and clothes in neutral or pastel colours to get the best out of your photography session. It’s also best to avoid wearing bright colours especially in fluorescent shades and large prints as these tend to steal the attention away from the happy smiles. Comfort is key though. During our shoot, we walk a lot, we run and lift kids up in the air, trust me, you will want the comfy shoes and the outfits that doesn’t require stiff poses. So two to three main colours, a print or two and some neutrals. Avoid too much black or navy, or too much white. If you want to wear a lot of white.. opt for things with different textures and maybe include some cream as well. Have a little think about where you are having your photos and take some inspiration from there. Take a look at some Pinterest boards as well. If you are really struggling with it, just ask me and I'm happy to help you.

How do I pay and when?

I get asked this question a lot. You pay your session fee or deposit at the time of booking. The session fee charge is separate from the portrait collections and pays for the work I do upfront organizing your photo session, my time and talent the day of the shoot, professional editing of your images afterward and delivery of the slideshow with all edited images from the session. Because I am turning away other clients in order to serve you on your date, the session fee is non-refundable. I accept cash, bank transfer, Afterpay and all major credit cards (processed via Square).

Final Products

The final digital images are fully edited and provided as high resolution JPEG files. Please allow 2-3 weeks for the editing and up to 3-4 weeks in the busy summer/late autumn seasons.

  • The final images are high resolution and you will receive the rights to use print them for you personal printing needs.

  • Please note that I do not provide RAW files, you will receive the best images that will be fully edited and you can use them for your personal printing needs and for social media use. My style is organic, I am more interested in love connections than anything else and the editing reflects that. I try to make the photos as natural as possible and flattering at the same time, but the soft touches do not include removing all wrinkles or editing tangled hair from the windy weather. The organic post processing is there to give a bit of a boost to the already existing emotions.

  • All prints and albums are printed using the very best in photo imaging equipment Australian labs.
